Moving Health Home applauds the passage of a long-term hospital at home extension. Congress has enacted a five-year extension of the Acute Hospital Care at Home program, marking a major step toward making hospital-level care in the home a durable part of the U.S. health care system. The extension gives providers long-term certainty to plan, invest, and scale hospital-at-home programs that have already demonstrated improved outcomes, reduced readmissions, and lower costs. Following sustained advocacy from Moving Health Home and more than 140 supporting organizations, this extension also enables large-scale data collection to build the evidence base needed to make hospital-at-home a permanent care model nationwide.
