The comparative effectiveness report showed that hospital-at-home patients had an 8.6 percent lower 30-day readmission rate compared to 15.6 percent readmission rate for the control group of acute-care hospital patients. Additionally, hospital-at-home patients had an 5.8 percent 30-day emergency department re-visit rate versus an 11.7 percent emergency department revisit rate among the control group. Hospital-at-home patients were also more likely to report the highest overall rating for overall hospital care in the American Community Survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau than the control group.
